kayla-krohThe Harrisburg Heat are ready to take on Syracuse at Oncenter War Memorial Arena in Syracuse after no game this past weekend. Coming off of a 10-8 victory over Syracuse on December 10 means the Heat is planning to expand on their 3-3 record that has them in second place in the Eastern Division behind Baltimore Blast.

“We are taking it game by game, and our main focus is on Syracuse this weekend,” said Denison Cabral, the Heat Head Coach.  “We aren’t thinking too far ahead and know we want to finish our chances at goals and, in the end, win.”

The Heat has been practicing all week to ensure midfield is sharp, forwards are ready to finish their chances and everyone is working as a team.

“The team is really gelling at this point in the season,”  stated Cabral.  “No one guy is the focus as it’s about us as a team; we have a lot of guys posting scores.  It’s nice to have the ability to have everybody a part of the offense.  What would be the point of having the top scorer in the league, but not be winning?”

Syracuse comes off of a loss against the Chicago Mustangs December 18.  After leading them for most of the game, they ultimately fell to the Mustangs 10-7, surrendering 8 goals in the fourth quarter alone.

Harrisburg enjoyed a big win over Syracuse December 10, winning 10-8 with 7 of the goals scored in the second half.  Val Teixeira and Ricardo Carvalho led the scoring for the game.

Harrisburg will face off at home against League leader Baltimore Blast on December 30 @ 7:35 p.m.  They are planning a Fan Appreciation night with giveaways, sports memorabilia and singer/songwriter Kayla Kroh entertaining in the beer garden for a fun fan experience.
