HEAT PLAY UNDEFEATED MONTERREY ON FRIDAY, BALTIMORE SATURDAY
The Harrisburg Heat enter the weekend with a record of 1-12. The Heat defeated the Baltimore Blast in their last home game by a score of 4-3 in overtime. This is the first and only game of the season between the Monterrey Flash and the Harrisburg Heat. Monterrey sits in first place in the Eastern Division of the MASL with an undefeated record of 16 wins without a loss. Friday’s game has a 7:35 PM kick off at the Equine Arena in the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex
Baltimore comes to town on Saturday with a record of 7 wins and 7 losses and is striving to qualify for the MASL playoffs this season. Baltimore is seven points behind the Kansas City Comets but have played four less games than Kansas City. Over the last two seasons, the Harrisburg Heat and Baltimore Blast have won all their home in the games played between the two teams. Saturday’s game will start at 7:05 PM at the Equine Arena.
On January 11th, the Harrisburg Heat signed goalkeeper Jorge Navarrete for the remainder of the season. Navarrete played the previous four seasons for the Florida Tropics along with goalkeeper Hugo Silva. Navarrete has started in the nets for the Heat in their last five games. He has a goals against average of 6.03 this season.
Dominic Francis is sixth in the league in goals scored this season. Francis leads the Heat in goals scored with 19 and points with 28. Joey Tavernese is the leader in assists for the Heat with 7. Tavernese also has scored 5 goals this season. Malcolm Harris and Danny DiPrima both have recorded 14 points this year with Harris scoring 9 goals and recording 5 assists and DiPrima having 8 goals and 6 assists.
