The Harrisburg Heat, coming off of back to back wins on the road last weekend, look to continue that streak while bettering their record against Syracuse.

The weekend’s victories place the Heat  a mere 1 1/2 games behind Division leaders, Baltimore Blast, while the Silver Knights sit at the bottom of the standings. The Heat has, however suffered losses 3 times and defeated Syracuse only once this season.

Both franchises have big announcements today that will impact the matchup tomorrow night.  Syracuse is under new coaching with the Ryan Hall being named head coach, and the Heat has announced a big addition to their roster, active for play tomorrow night.

Chile Farias officially joined the Heat today.  He is a long-time veteran of arena soccer, having started his career with the San Diego Sockers in 1996. His experience and skill will be counted on heavily as the Heat race toward a potential spot in the playoffs.  Farias is comes to the team enthusiastic about the new placement.

“Denison (Cabral) called me last week and I jumped at the opportunity to play for him and help the team,” said Farias.

Cabral, Heat’s Head Coach adds “Chile and I have known each other since we were younger.   As we push towards postseason, I wanted to bring in an impact player and Chile was my first choice!”

Experience and upping their game was clearly on everyone’s mind when deciding to bring on Farias.

“Chile brings a vast knowledge of arena soccer to the team and his experience on The US National Futsal Team will only help our younger guys,” stated Heat GM Carl Delmont.

Another hot spot Syracuse will have to figure out how to get around if they want to win is Hugo da Silva.  His Goal Keeper record puts him at 8th in the league and continues to contribute largely to why the Heat is on a current winning streak.

The mental component of the game is important and the Heat will focus on not making mistakes and staying together as a team.  Continuing to play on the depth of their team, the Heat spreads their scoring across many players, so Syracuse will not have the ability to focus on a few key players and expect success. The Heat hope to prevail against Syracuse and prolong this hot streak.

Harrisburg vs. Syracuse kicks off tomorrow night at 7:35 p.m. at PA Farm Show Arena.  Girls Got Game specials and a Mascot Game will round out the fun activities.  www.harrisburgheat.com for tickets.
