The Harrisburg Heat dropped their season opener to Utica City FC by a final of 9-7 in front of 2,954 at the New Holland Arena at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg.

Despite having leads through most of the game the Heat surrendered four 4th period goals. Leading the charge back would be who you would expect for Utica in Joey Tavernese and Slavisa Ubiparipovic. Tavernese finished as the #1 star of the game with two goals and two assists, while Ubiparipovic finished as the #3 star of the game with two goals and one assist.

For the Heat Ricardo Carvalho tallied #2 star of the game honors with one goal and two assists. Tom Mellor also had three points in the season opener with 2 goals and 1 assist, who scored one of his goals on the power play. The Heat went 2-2 on their power play opportunities.

The Heat (0-1) are right back in action next Saturday, December 8th, 2018 against the St. Louis Ambush at 7.05pm at the New Holland Arena. It is also ‘Mini-Ball Giveaway night.’ Tickets are on sale now at www.harrisburgheat.com
