Heat Score Four Goals in 4th Quarter

The Harrisburg Heat defeated the league’s defending champion Milwaukee Wave by a score of 6-5.  After the Heat fell behind by a score of 5-2 early in the fourth quarter, they scored the final four goals in the game to pull out the victory.  This was a great ending to a grueling road trip where the Heat played three games in four days in three different cities.  The Heat showed their fitness, athleticism and grit in the win to advance their record to 10-6 and  remain tied for fourth place in the Eastern Conference.  The top four teams make the playoffs.

The Heat were led offensively by Dom Francis and JJ Gibson.  Francis had a goal and an assist in the game while Gibson recorded three assists.  Additional goals were scored by William Eskay, Tavoy Morgan, Patrick Thompson, Malcolm Harris and Marcel Berry.    Rookies Harris and Berry scored big goals for the Heat.  Harris scored his first goal of the year heading in the Heat’s fourth goal on the night to bring the Heat within one goal and Berry got the game winner with 1 minute and 15 seconds left in the game.  Midfielder Daniel Villela continued his strong play for the Heat as he set up Dom Francis for the game tying goal in the last quarter.  Defensively, Danny DiPrima, Elton de Oliveira and Gibson each had two blocks in the game.  One of DiPrima’s blocks was a goal saving play just before Francis tied the game.  Jesus Molina had seven saves in the goal for Harrisburg.

Milwaukee Wave had five different players score goals in the game.  Alex Bradley, Isaac Pereyra, Max Ferdinand, Marcio Leite and Andre Hayne each had a goal.

The Heat remain on the road as they play their fifth straight away game when they visit Baltimore to take on the Blast next Saturday.   Kick off is at 6:05 P.M. EST in Baltimore.    The Heat are 2-2 on this road trip.  The Heat’s next home game at the Farm Show Arena is February 22nd.  For ticket information go to www.harrisburgheat.com or contact kevin@harrisburgheat.com.
