The Harrisburg Heat announce their latest signing today by adding MASL veteran Daniel Villela to their roster, pending visa approval. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

With experience playing for the Ontario Fury, Atletico Baja and the El Paso Coyotes, as well as being a key player on the Mexican Arena National Team, Villela brings both the skill and experience needed to fit the vision of new Head Coach Pat Healey.

“Daniel (Villela) is an exciting midfielder with a lot of experience in the MASL. He is a good two-way player with an excellent work rate,” said Healey.

“This is a huge signing for the Heat. He will bring energy and experience to the Heat in every practice and game.”

Villela is anxious to get started and meet his new teammates, “I’m very happy to sign with a team with history like the Harrisburg Heat. I want to thank Pat Healey for the confidence in having me be part of the Harrisburg Heat. I hope to adapt as quickly as possible to the team and city before the start of the season.”

Currently residing in Mexico, he is making arrangements to relocate and meet Heat Fans.

“I’m eager to start the season,” Villela continued. “This is a new challenge for me and it will not be easy, but I will be able to do my part and to support the team and achieve success for my teammates, fans and organization – Let’s go Heat!”

The Home Opener is December 1 at Freedmont Mortgage ® Field at Farm Show Arena. The Heat play in the Major Arena Soccer League.
