The Harrisburg Heat of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announce the re-signing of midfielder Julian Escobar and have added veteran goalkeeper Jesus “Chuy” Molina.  Escobar and Molina were both signed to one year contracts. Per league policy, no other details of the agreement are available.

Julian Escobar joined the Heat last year and played in all 24 games.  Escobar scored 10 goals and recorded 5 assists for a total of 15 points during the 2018/2019 MASL season.  Escobar also blocked 11 shots.

Julian Escobar said: “Truly thankful and excited to sign with the Heat for another season.  I’m here to learn, grow, stay focused and help win games.  We have a talented group of guys and I’m looking forward to a successful season.  Can’t wait to get started and put on a show in front of our fans.”

General Manager and Head Coach, Pat Healey said: “I think Julian did a very good job last season.  He is a student of the game and he learned the system that we want to run.  So far in pre-season, he has looked more confident and I look forward to him carrying that into the season.”

Jesus “Chuy” Molina was signed as a free agent after playing for the San Diego Sockers last season.  Molina is a veteran who has played 10 years of professional arena soccer.  In addition to playing three seasons with San Diego, Molina has played for the El Paso Coyotes, Las Vegas Legends, Anaheim Bolts and the California Cougars.

Goalkeeper, Molina said: “I want to thank Pat Healey and the front office for giving me this opportunity to come and play for the Harrisburg Heat.  I can’t wait to get to work and start a new chapter in my career.  Go Heat!”

Pat Healey commented: “We knew we had to make an upgrade in the goal from last season.  We have done that by adding Chuy to the roster.  Chuy is a veteran goalkeeper, who has played for many successful teams in this league.  He gives us more composure in the back which will help us keep the ball better and ultimately attack better.”

The Harrisburg Heat begin their 2019/2020 season on Saturday, November 30th in Rochester against the Rochester Lancers.  The Heat open their home slate with a rematch with the Lancers at the Farm Show Arena on Saturday, December 7th.  Game time for the home game on the 7th is 7:05 P.M.
