Veteran Forward Added To The Roster

The Harrisburg Heat are pleased to announce that they have signed veteran forward Joey Tavernese.  Per team and league policies, financials terms of the agreements are not disclosed.

Joey Tavernese is an eleven-year veteran of professional indoor soccer.  Tavernese has played for five different franchises and has proven to be an excellent goal scorer on each of them.  Tavernese previously played for the Rochester Lancers, Ontario Fury, Syracuse Silver Knights, Utica City FC and the Florida Tropics.  Tavernese was named to the second team all MASL team in 2017/2018.  Joey Tavernese also represented the United States internationally playing for the USA National Futsal Team for several years.  In 2016, Tavernese and Harrisburg Heat Head Coach, Pat Healey, were teammates on the USA National Futsal Team.

Harrisburg Head Coach and General Manager Pat Healey is pleased with the signing of Joey Tavernese.  Healey said: “Joey has been a true professional in the MASL for many years.  I am happy to add him to the roster and show the younger players how to compete.  He has been a goal scorer everywhere he has played and that will continue with the Harrisburg Heat.”

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to play and learn under Coach Healey after years of playing with and against him.” said Tavernese.  “I’m looking forward to a new start and competing day in and day out with my teammates.  I can’t wait for the start of the new season.”

The MASL stretches across North America with teams in the United States and Mexico.  The Harrisburg Heat begin their season on the road in Utica on December 2nd.  The Heat home opener is Saturday, December 9th at 7:05 PM against the Kansas City Comets.  All home games are played at the Equine Arena in the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex.  For ticket information, please contact the Heat at tickets@harrisburgheat.com.
