Kickoff In Baltimore is 6:05PM

The Harrisburg Heat end a difficult five game road trip with a game in Baltimore on Saturday evening.   Kick off is 6:05 P.M. EST.  The Harrisburg Heat have split their first four games on this trip and the Heat record is 10-6 which puts them in fourth place in the Eastern Conference.  The top four teams advance to the playoffs.  The game can be viewed on line at masltv.com.

The five game road trip began with the team traveling across the country to take on the Tacoma Stars on January 31st.  The Heat got off to a tremendous start by taking an early 6-1 lead and eventually defeating Tacoma 11-10.  The Heat returned to Harrisburg after the game for a few practice sessions and went back on the road for their trek through the Midwest.  The Midwest trip, which included three games in four days in three different cities, began in Kansas City on February 6th.  The game in Kansas City ended in a heartbreaking defeat to the Comets by a score of 6-5 in overtime.  The winning goal was scored with less than one second remaining on a shot that was deflected twice by Heat defenders.  The Heat then moved on to St. Louis for a game on Saturday evening where they lost 9-6.  The team mounted a late comeback in the game scoring four goals in the fourth quarter before giving up an open net goal to end the game.  After that set back, the Heat had to travel through the night to Milwaukee to meet the defending MASL champions.  The Heat players showed their heart, grit, fitness and determination as they defeated the Milwaukee Wave with a strong comeback in the fourth quarter.  The final score in the win was 6-5 as the Heat scored four unanswered goals in the last fifteen minutes.  This win kept the Heat in fourth place as they look to qualify for the playoffs.  The Heat are one half game ahead of the Baltimore Blast and just one and a half game behind the third place Milwaukee Wave.  The Heat trail the second place Utica City FC by just two games.  The Heat have three games with Baltimore, two with Utica and one with Milwaukee on their remaining schedule.

The Heat have been led on the road trip by midfielder Daniel Villela who recorded one goal and nine assists in the four games.  In addition, Dom Francis has kept his streak alive of scoring in each game this year as he scored an additional five goals.  Tavoy Morgan and Patrick Thompson also each contributed four goals during these games while JJ Gibson had two goals and five assists.

Heat players are also climbing the leader board in MASL statistics.  Daniel Villela leads the league with 21 assists while Elton de Oliveira continues to lead the MASL with 32 blocked shots.  In addition, Dylan Hundelt has 2 shorthanded goals which also is a league leader.  Dom Francis is just one goal away from leading the league in goals scored as he has 26 goals on the year.  William Banahene has an outstanding goals against average of 5.00 and is listed fifth in goalkeeper statistics.

After the road trip ends on Saturday, the Heat return home as six of their final seven games will be played home at the Farm Show Arena.  On February 22nd, the Heat take on the Orlando Sea Wolves on Star Wars Night.  The Heat players will wear special jerseys that evening that will be auctioned off to the public.  The event will also include light saber training sessions, special half time show and photo sessions.  Sunday, February 23rd brings the Baltimore Blast into Harrisburg.  It will be Grandparents Day on February 23rd with your favorite frozen characters in attendance.  For tickets, please go to www.harrisburgheat.com.  For group discounts or more information, contact Kevin Healey at kevin@harrisburgheat.com.
