The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced today a long-term partnership with Mitre. This partnership will bring the world’s fastest game together with one of the biggest names in soccer across the globe.
“We have long believed that the MASL is one of the most exciting, fast-paced, action-packed games for fans to enjoy. We look forward to this partnership with Mitre, one of the biggest global brands in the sport of soccer, and take our game to the next level,” said Commissioner Joshua Schaub.
As part of the agreement, Mitre will provide the Official Match ball of both the MASL and MASL2 (M2). The member teams of both leagues will use Mitre exclusively for training and matches. The ball is custom-made for the MASL and is specifically designed to perform on arena soccer surfaces.
The Official Match ball will be launched in 2018 and will be available across Team stores, MASL’s online shop and other retailers across the country. Mitre will work with the MASL and its member teams to distribute and market the league to a broader audience of fans and develop other league-branded items direct to consumers through team sales, e-commerce and retail outlets.
“Mitre’s aim globally is to support and partner with leading soccer organizations that align with not only our business strategies, but our brand ethos and commitment to the game,” said Mitre General Manager, Wendy Wixon. “We believe MASL’s organization, market position and membership are a great fit as a partner in North America as we expand the Mitre brand.”
Fans can watch the new Mitre ball in action when the MASL season begins on October 27th with the Tacoma Stars hosting the Milwaukee Wave at 7:35 p.m. PT. Public availability of the Official Match Ball, as well as the Official Replica Ball, is expected to be announced in the coming weeks on MASLSoccer.com as well as all MASL social media channels.
