Signing of Yaikel Perez Caps Off Active Week Of Player Acquisitions
The Harrisburg Heat have signed Yaikel Perez.
Perez is a native of Havana, Cuba and was part of the Cuban National Team which qualified for the 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Along with several of his teammates he defected to the United States during the final qualifying phase, and eventually signed for the USL’s Miami FC in 2006.
“Yaikel brings both experience and passion to help the team compete at the highest level,” said Harrisburg Heat CEO Carl Delmont.
“First of all, thank you to the whole Harrisburg Heat organization for allowing me to form part of this family,” said Perez.
“I would also like to thank Mr. Delmont and Coach Denison Cabral for extending me the opportunity to form part of this NEW ERA in the Harrisburg Heat organization,” Perez continued.
Perez has played for a number of American and Puerto Rican teams over the last few years, most recently he had 6 goals in the 2014 season playing for Đà Nẵng F.C. in Vietnam.
