Harrisburg Heat Lose 11-6 To Defending MASL Champions

The Harrisburg Heat came out strong in the first period as shots and space were tough to come by taking a 2-1 lead and the team scored the last 3 goals of the match but it wasn’t enough as the team fell in the opener 11-6 to the MASL defending champion Baltimore Blast.

Ricardo Carvalho, Ty Hall (power play), and Stephen Bosso, scored the final 3 goals for the Heat, but couldn’t overcome 3 power play goals for Baltimore on the evening, along with 4 from Vini Dantas on the night.  Geaton Caltabiano (2nd of the match) and Josh Hughes scored 4th period tallies for the Blast.

Jerome Raley, Andrew Hoxie (2nd of the match via the power play, Vini Dantas (his 3rd and 4th of the match one via the power play), and Tony Donatelli all scored in the 3rd period to give the Blast a 9-2 lead before Val Teixeira cut the lead 6 late in the frame.

Baltimore came up with 3 unanswered markers in the second period as Andrew Hoxie and Vini Dantas (his second of the match via the power play) scored even strength and Geaton Caltabiano took advantage on the power play to put the Blast up 4-2 at the half.

The Heat tied things at 1 on a breakaway goal from Tom Mellor and took the lead on a Dominic Francis tally late in the first.

Vini Dantas opened the scoring in the first period off of a restart goal to make it 1-0 Blast.
