Heat’s Hugo Silva Receives Honorable Mention In MASL Team Of The Week – Week 12

The Major Arena Soccer League announced today that the following players were named to the Team of the Week for Week Twelve.

The MASL Team of the Week is selected using the Stars awarded at each game and by soliciting nominations from each team. Players nominated by teams were each awarded three points and stars were awarded 3 points (1st Star), 2 points (2nd star) and 1 Point (3rd star) respectively.

GOALKEEPER:

Danny Waltman (Tacoma Stars) – Playing three games in four days, Waltman led his team to a 2-1 record, recording a .742 Save Percentage through the weekend.

DEFENSE:

Guerrero Pino (Kansas City Comets) – The Comets won their second straight game over the weekend with Pino and the defense holding the Harrisburg Heat to only four goals. Pino also chipped in with a goal and two assists on the night.

MIDFIELD:

Hugo Puentes (El Paso Coyotes) – In one of the closest games of the weekend, the Coyotes fell just short against Sonora. Puentes did everything he could to keep his team in the hunt though, he scored four goals and two assists in the match.

Brandon Escoto (San Diego Sockers) – The Sockers faced a tough divisional challenge on Friday against the Tacoma Stars on Friday night, but Escoto made it look easy as he scored three goals and an assist on the way to a big Sockers home win.

FORWARD:

Nick Perera (Tacoma Stars) – The Tacoma Stars are ready to take the next step towards the playoffs and added Perera to help them get there. He hasn’t disappointed either, especially during Week 12. He scored five goals and five assists to help his team go 2-1 over four days

Franck Tayou (Soles de Sonora) – This is the second straight weekend for Tayou on the Team of the Week. The reigning MVP had an nine-point weekend, scoring three goals and an assist against El Paso on Friday, then five goals against Milwaukee on Saturday.
