Mesias Brings Indoor And Outdoor Soccer Experience To Heat

mesiasThe Harrisburg Heat have signed Jade Mesias, a veteran indoor soccer player with collegiate coaching experience.

“I wanted to sign for the Heat because it’s where I started playing indoor,” said Mesias. “There is a strong sense of camaraderie and family amongst the guys.”

Mesias added, “I feel like I am coming home. The first thing Heavy, the equipment manager, said to me when he came in the second day of training camp was, ‘Welcome home! You can go anywhere and play anywhere but this will always be your home.'”

In college, Mesias was a standout collegiate soccer player at Benedictine College in Kansas. There Mesias scored six goals and assisted on seven others as a senior for the Ravens, earning All-Region and All-Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) first team honors.

“Jade brings a ton of enthusiasm, energy and talent. He adds tremendous depth to our team,” said Carl Delmont, Harrisburg Heat General Manager.

Mesias was also named a second-team All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and a third-team All-American by the NAIA. As one of the top 20 players in the NAIA, he was chosen to play for the Tourbeau Sports Group All-Star Team, touring the east coast.

Earlier in his career, Mesias earned All-HAAC second-team honors as a junior, following a six-goal, four assist performance in 2012. The Ravens won HAAC Championships during his junior and senior seasons. Mesias transferred to Benedictine as a sophomore following one year at Kansas City Kansas Community College, where he was a team Most Valuable Player and earned All-Region honorable mention.

Mesias spent the summer of 2014 playing for the ASA Charge of the National Premier Soccer League, a semi-professional team in Anne Arundel County, MD. He is currently on trial with Evergreen Diplomats of the American Soccer League.

After spending a season away from indoor, playing abroad in both New Zealand and Ireland, Mesias returned to the U.S. in the summer of 2016 to compete in the USLPDL. There he led the Odessa Sockers FC to a final 4 spot and was a standout in the playoffs and making the All-PDL playoff team.

Mesias resides in Chestertown, MD with his wife, Kimberly. Mesias is currently an Assistant Coach for the Washington College men’s soccer team on Maryland’s eastern shore.
